Seen in.... Notting Hill, London - "I Can't Breathe"

Large billboard up in Notting Hill.
Simple design, but so powerful.

"I can't breathe"

"Eric Garner (1970 - July 17, 2014)
George Floyd (1974 - May 25, 2020)"

Eric Garner died in the New York City borough of Staten Island after Daniel Pantaleo, a New York City Police Department (NYPD) officer, put him in a chokehold while arresting him. Video footage of the incident generated widespread national attention and raised questions about the appropriate use of force by law enforcement.

On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes while he was handcuffed face down in the street.

Black Lives Matter, anti-racism protests across all 50 US states and around the world continue to take place, keeping the narrative alive, asking for change and justice for George, Eric, and the many other black lives that have died during police custody. But of course, this topic delves much deeper than the recent killing of George Floyd. He was the catalyst for all the anger around the world to say "Stop, we have had enough!" - enough of this continuous, systemic and general racism towards people of colour. All we want is racial equality. No justice - no peace.
