Street Style Photoshoot around Shoreditch in association with Hackett London

British mens clothing brand Hackett London ran an online contest to promote their new brand. As part of the prize for the winner & guest was an all expenses paid holiday to London, an invitation to their Shoreditch store to choose some new free clothing items of their choice, plus a private photography tour with a street-style/hipster shoot with myself wearing the Hackett brand clothing.

The two prize winners travelled from Norway and were really easy to work with. We had an enjoyable stroll around Shoreditch including Brick Lane, checking out the street art, the boutiques, and we got some cool street style shots on what was a beautiful, sunny day in London.

One of my favourite things about doing photoshoots, is that moment when the clients, who are initially nervous/self conscience, start to gain your trust and relax into the shoot. It is the job of the photographer, to put them at ease, so that they become themselves and their personalities & chemistry comes through. I usually know that I'm doing a good job when they almost forget that I'm even there!

One of my favourite images from a recent photoshoot I did with the songwriting duo Veenus London Music. My brief was simply to capture their vibe in a urban street style. No fancy lights, reflectors or gimmicks. Just working with natural light, as I would do anyway, and a decent fixed lens is all I really need!

Just finished a photoshoot around London with an Argentinian race cyclist. An interesting and very different shoot from my norm, but I was up for the challenge. That said, it was also a lot of fun to shoot.

In fact, we are doing a second shoot in the City of London over the weekend! For now, we ended today's shoot, here under Westminster Bridge, looking out to the Houses of Parliament, just as it started to rain!

I just completed a photoshoot with London actor recently, with Peter Alberti, in a 'Day In The Life' themed shoot. All images were made in Central London. Here are some highlights from the shoot...





As a street photographer, I enjoy getting hired to do portrait photoshoots as I am usually giving full creative control on the making of the images. Its always fun to work with a model 'subject' and also have permission to put my personal 'street photography' stamp on the final results. No fancy gimmicks or kit lighting - just one camera, and two lenses (an Olympus prime 90mm & 50mm) and natural day light!

Just back from a photo-walk / Q&A audio interview thingie with BBC Radio 4 writers, for a feature they're doing on 'people watching in the digital age'.

After meeting at cafe, we made our way towards Soho Square. It was a sunny day and so the Square was heaving with locals on their lunch breaks as we strolled amongst them snapping photos.

I don't know how much content they will use, but it was a lot of fun (and a bit weird) being asked lots of interesting questions by someone, another holding a furry microphone in my face, whilst 'covertly' trying to get some candid street shots!!

Hammersmith London hosted a free live big screening of La Boheme from The Royal Opera House into Lyric Square. I was hired as photographer for this event. The brief from Hammersmith London was to capture the essence of the event, the social atmosphere and elements of the amazing crowd that turned up to watch it on a great summers evening. The Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham and special guests were also in attendance as special guests.

I did some events photography for Hammersmith London at Theatre In The Square (Lyric Square). Light The Fuse, a new theatre production company put on a great outdoor performance called FULL STOP, that all takes place by a bus stop! I was asked to get some photos of the performance but also capture the life around Hammersmith's infamous Lyric Square. Great fun taking photos for this outdoor event.
