Personal Photographer for London Visitors: Street-Style Photoshoots
One of the services I offer is working as a personal photographer for people visiting London.
Most of my clients contact me for the same reasons: they don’t like phone selfies, they don’t want to ask strangers to take photos, and they don’t want to risk their phone in busy areas. Others want photos for personal memories or social media but feel awkward in front of a camera.
What they’re looking for is simple: a local photographer they can trust, who knows the city, understands street-style photography, and can make the whole experience relaxed rather than intimidating.
That’s exactly how I work.
Trusting a Photographer You’ve Never Met
It’s normal to feel hesitant about booking a photographer you’ve never worked with before — especially in a city you don’t know.
This is why I always talk with clients before the shoot, either by phone and/or email. We cover topics like:
Nothing is rushed. The goal is that when we meet, it already feels familiar.
How I Run the Shoot
My photoshoot sessions are informal and collaborative.
During the shoot I:
Most nerves disappear within the first few minutes. Once that happens, people start moving naturally — which is where the best photos come from.
A tense subject never looks good on camera. Making someone feel comfortable isn’t a bonus; it’s part of my job.
A Recent Client Case Study
Recently I worked with a visitor from Australia who wanted black-and-white, high-contrast street portraits across several London locations. He was also a Peaky Blinders fan and wanted that sharp, cinematic feel.
We spoke beforehand, shared references, and agreed to start with a 1-hour session. He paid a booking deposit and we locked in a time and place.
During the shoot, I showed him images as we worked so he could see exactly what I was getting. He was happy with the direction immediately.
After seeing the edited proofs, he booked me two more sessions in the same week, and he’s already planning another shoot when he returns to London.
That’s usually how it goes when expectations are clear and trust is handled properly from the start.

Client Testimonial:
"Hey Linda, thank you so much! You’ve done amazing work, and I’m really glad to have met you. Hopefully, we can do a photoshoot again in the future 😊😊"
How Payment Works for First-Time Clients
Hiring a photographer is a leap of faith, so I keep things straightforward.
For new clients, I offer a first-time 1-hour session where:
If you don’t select any images, your deposit is fully refunded, and no further payment is required.
No images are released until payment is complete, and all sessions are shot on my camera and equipment, to ensure a smooth, professional experience.
This approach reassures first-time clients without overcomplicating things.
Common Questions I Get From New Clients
Where do we do the photoshoot?
We plan shoot locations collaboratively based on your preferences. I confirm the final locations with you in advance so everything is clear before we start.
What should I wear?
Wear what you want and feel comfortable in. You’re welcome to bring outfit changes and props (hat, sunglasses etc) if you’d like to vary your look for different locations.
How long until I see my photos?
Edited images are typically shown within 12–24 hours of the session. If the shoot allows, you may see them the same day; otherwise, they’re usually ready the next day.
How many photos will I receive?
From a 1-hour session, I typically present 20+ edited images, depending on how the shoot flows. There’s no fixed number, and the price doesn’t change based on quantity.
What if I feel awkward?
It’s completely normal to feel nervous at first. I help you feel relaxed and confident, giving pose directions and guidance during the session if you want or need it. Most people settle in quickly and start enjoying the process after a few warm-up shots.
Cost Transparency
I keep pricing clear so there are no surprises.
For first-time clients, I offer a 1-hour session for £100, including shoot, editing, and travel.
A 50% deposit secures your booking, with the remainder due after you see the images.
You can view full details and book your session on my Special Offer Page.
Longer sessions and repeat bookings are available at standard rates.
Full details are provided before booking.

Group Street Photography Walks London (New Events)
10th September 2025
I frequently get asked if I run group events, but I haven’t done so in a while, as things have been super busy for me with my professional work.
However, I’m back and have some group street photo walks in London lined up — small groups (6 people max), popular locations around central London and east London, plus some of my favourite lesser-known spots, over the next coming months.
These street photography events are aimed at beginners, amateur enthusiasts, London visitors, or anyone who wants to explore the city through a camera or phone, shoot street photography in a group, and/or pick my brains and get some in person tips and feedback along the way.
1-2-1 walks and workshops are also available, if you prefer your own private events. Choose your own date, time and location to suit.
📍 London locations (Central and Shoreditch)
📅 September + October dates now live
🎟️ Use code: Code: EARLYBIRD10 for 10% off group events!

Seen in... Kensal Green, London - Street photography
16th June 2025

Seen in... Kensal Green, London

Cowboys n' Crutches in the Wild West.. well West London. I caught this gentlemen waiting for a bus in Kensal Green. I guess he had to use another means of transport other than his trusty horse today. His sandals probably a substitute for his usual cowboy boots, while on the mend from his injury.

Seen in..... Soho, London - Headless

Shot in the New Year during an evening street photography workshop on a night with the most awful weather—heavy rain, sleet, and cold winds! Without an umbrella to shield her from the pouring rain, this headless illusion, as seen in this photo, proves to be a clever & practical tactic!
Captured with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX9 and Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 25mm F1.8 lens.

Brian Griffin - Legendary British Photographer has died
30th January 2024
Hull 2018
Brian Griffin - Legendary British Photographer has died aged 75.
Brian started his career as a highly acclaimed corporate photographer during the ’70s. His association with Stiff Records propelled him into the realm of music, where he became a prominent figure.
In the ’80s, Griffin gained recognition for capturing some of the decade’s most defining album covers. Notably, his work on Depeche Mode’s A Broken Frame, featuring a distinctive photograph of a woman harvesting grain in a field, drew inspiration from the socialist photography of Soviet Russia.
His other work included projects with Echo & The Bunnymen, Iggy Pop, The Clash, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Furthermore, Griffin a shot a documentary for Paul McCartney in 2004, while connecting with notable individuals, including Helen Mirren, Jonathan Ross, and Vivienne Westwood.
I was lucky to meet Brian a few years ago during the Hull International Photography Festival. He made time to talk to me and was just a lovely soul and an inspiration to all. He shall be greatly missed by so many.
May you rest peacefully Brian Griffin.

Seen in Notting Hill, London - No Fly Tipping
30th August 2023
30th August 2023
Seen in... Notting Hill, London

The British term fly tipping is derived from the verb tip, meaning "to throw out of a vehicle", and on the fly, meaning "on the wing" – to throw away carelessly or casually.
'No Fly Tipping' signs are rare in London, but some of the original signs still remain like this faded council one, just below a more recent one above it. Located on the wall of this quiet residential road in the Notting Hill area.
I'm not sure why the sign is still there, but I found it humorous that of all the places on this road they could have just dumped this mysterious suitcase, they chose to leave it right under this No Fly Tipping sign! :-)
Taken with my Apple iPhone SE.

Ed's Diner - Soho, London, UK
I'm pleased to be featured in a brand new hardback book publication 'Women Street Photographers' in celebration of 100 international, contemporary professional and amateur woman photographers.
"...Curated by the visual connections between pictures, the images are variously joyful, intriguing and unexpected, offering a kaleidoscopic view of what happens when women across the world are behind the camera"

This is an amazing collection of street photographs, some of which I have never seen before so genuinely thrilled at the high quality of images to muse over in this medium sized coffee-table, hardback book.

Thanks to curator & editor Gulnara Samoilova for putting this together. The book is out this week by Prestel Publishing and is available to order worldwide, from all good bookshops & online via Amazon:

USA - https://amzn.to/30ldZpU
